Oceanside Man Arrested in Mission Viejo Killing

Tustin criminal defense attorneyA 21-year-old Oceanside resident has been taken into custody in connection with a man whose body was found in the Vista Real Apartments in Mission Viejo.

Francesco “Joey” Bonomolo was found dead in his apartment on May 4. Police immediately suspected homicide after finding the signs of a violent struggle inside the apartment. The body was taken for autopsy, and findings revealed he died of multiple stab wounds.

May 13, police took 21-year-old Anthony Ingala-Whiting into custody in connection with the killing. He is being held on $1 million bail. Police believe the killing took place sometime between April 29 and May 4. Investigators say he may have been dead for several days before an acquaintance of Bonomolo found the body.

Ingala-Whiting is being charged with one count of felony murder with a sentence enhancement for use of a deadly weapon. The sentence is a maximum of 26 years to life in state prison.
