L.A. County authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for an inmate who slipped out of the L.A. County jail just moments after being processed.

Investigators say on March 12, Christopher Brown was taken to Twin Towers Correctional facility a few hours after being sentenced to four years in prison for burglary and identity theft. Brown was convicted of stealing laptop computers from a hospital office in Alhambra.

While in the release and reception area of the correctional facility, Brown posed as another inmate and escaped, walking out through the reception doors and out of the prison. No one noticed that he was missing until a head count that night.

The $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Brown’s re-arrest. He has prior arrests in Orange, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The L.A. Sherriff’s Department has already opened an investigation into the escape. Jail officials say all security breaches have been remedied since the incident.
