Irvine California criminal defense attorneyInvestigators have confirmed that a 21-year-old woman whose body was found at a recycling plant was murdered. An autopsy revealed that the woman did not die of natural causes, although authorities declined to reveal the cause of death.

On the morning of March 14 a worker at Republic Services, a recycling center that services most of Orange and Los Angeles Counties, saw a partially clothed body on a conveyor belt used to separate trash from recyclables. Police identified the victim the next day as Jarrae Nykkole Estepp, a Modesto resident.

Investigators are trying to narrow down which area the woman came from before she arrived at the center. The autopsy showed she had been killed within 24 hours of being found. The results of toxicology tests run on the victim have yet to come back.

Since Estepp had recently faced prostitution charges in Oklahoma City, police are working with surrounding precincts to find out if the death is connected to any other recent, local unsolved crimes related to prostitution. Among them is the death of 30-year-old Tina Hoang of Bellflower, who was found dead on Newport Beach in early March 2014, and three other women in Santa Ana who disappeared after being seen in and around a neighborhood known for drugs and prostitution.
