Police ID Men Sought in Officer-involved Shooting

La Habra criminal attorneyA third suspect is sought in an armed robbery that ended in an officer-involved shooting and high-speed police chase in early March.

It began around 2 a.m. on March 13, when the three men robbed a man at gunpoint outside a Santa Ana restaurant. The victim said he was held at gunpoint and robbed. Police quickly identified the vehicle and attempted to stop it. It led them on a chase that wound through Fountain Valley, Westminster, Huntington Beach and Garden Grove. During the chase, police believe one man escaped from the vehicle.

The chase ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed while attempting to make a left turn.

The suspects fled the car after the crash, at which time officers fired. No one was injured. Police found a shotgun, assault weapon and a handgun inside the vehicle.

Police took 21-year old Justin Qunnaphonh Phabmixay and 29-year old Michael Tran Nguyen into custody, and continue to search for the third suspect.
